Katie Puckrik

Broadcaster, writer, podcaster and performer Katie Puckrik made her British TV breakthrough presenting Channel 4’s iconic “The Word” in the 1990s, and has been the go-to voice on popular culture’s heroes, villains, creators and destroyers ever since.

She is a presenter and contributor across UK/US television, BBC Radio and Times Radio, and her writing on culture, lifestyle and travel appears in The Guardian, The Observer, The Telegraph, Elle and The Sunday Times.

She created the first and most influential YouTube fragrance channel, “Katie Puckrik Smells”, making her a world-renowned perfume expert. She is a columnist for ES Magazine, writing on perfume and politics.

Her US television work includes launching Oxygen network with Oprah Winfrey, writing and starring in two series for the channel: “Who Needs Hollywood?” and “Pajama Party”.

UK projects include writing and presenting the two-part BBC4 music documentary, “I Can Go For That: The Smooth World of Yacht Rock”. Also for BBC4, she devised “The Last Igloo”, an award-winning film following a day in the life of an Inuit hunter.

Her modern history podcast “We Didn’t Start the Fire” was named one of The Observer’s top ten podcasts of 2021.

Reviewers called her memoir, “Shooting From the Lip”, “gonzette journalism”...“an ammunition-packed bad girl’s guide to life.”

Dance was Katie’s showbiz entry point, and she has performed at the top of the profession with DV8 Physical Theatre, Michael Clark Company and Pet Shop Boys. She’s a sought-after DJ, and her definitive yacht rock box set will be released by Demon Records in 2024.

As a vocalist she sang on both recording and performance of Sparks’ opera “The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman”, and is a late-blooming rock star thanks to 2023’s sold-out tour of Iggy Pop’s “Lust For Life” album, fronting a supergroup of Iggy, Bowie, Blondie and Sex Pistols legends. Katie's music career continues to surge with tours and new recordings scheduled for 2024.
