Michael Caines

One of the UK’s most celebrated and renowned chefs, Michael Caines MBE is the Chef Patron of Lympstone Manor, the luxury country house hotel based in Exmouth, Devon. The holder of two Michelin stars for 18 consecutive years before he took the leap of faith to open his own Country House Hotel - within six months Lympstone Manor achieved its first. Michael is known worldwide for his distinctive modern European cuisine utilising the very best local, artisanal produce and ingredients.

Lympstone Manor, a Grade-II-listed Georgian Manor, was creatively restored and renovated before its opening in April 2017. Once a private home, the property is set across 28 acres with unrivalled views of the Exe Estuary and a Vineyard of 10 acres planted with the classic sparkling wine varieties.

Michael appears regularly on “Saturday Kitchen” and has made numerous appearances on “MasterChef”, “The Great British Menu”, “Sunday Brunch” and other broadcasts. Most recently he has offered his expertise to ITVs new series, “Cooking with the Stars” and enjoyed a return to France with Fred Sirieix for “Remarkable Places to Eat”.

In 2006 Michael was awarded his MBE for services to the hospitality industry and is currently the Deputy Lieutenant to the Lord Lieutenant of Devon.
