Richard Allinson

Over 30 years in contemporary music broadcasting has seen him collect a bunch of Gold Sony awards and an enviable record in delivering big audiences on Capital, VH-1, BBC Radio 2 and Magic. He is now the Drive host on Scala Radio and can also be heard on Saturdays across the Greatest Hits Network.

The warm and engaging voice of The Royal Variety Show, The Classic Brits and The Concert For Diana for ITV, Inside The Freemasons for Sky, alongside Vodafone, McLaren F1, The Music Producers Guild, Warner Films, BBC Entertainment and the compelling excitement of The Digital Switchover . John Bishop said “Yeah I’ve heard you”.

Away from the mic Richard is Creative Director of Magnum Opus Broadcasting whose big hits include The Record Producers, The Audio Archaeologists, Third Reich’n’Roll with Stephen Fry, War Cry with Al Murray, The V-Disc Story with Quincy Jones and Patti Austin, Colour By Numbers Live with the Northern Philharmonic Orchestra, Boy George: 30 Years Man And Boy, Phil Spector’s Christmas Gift For You with Amanda Holden.

When not judging the Ivor Novello awards, the Music Producers Guild, the Radio Academy and the Olivier theatre awards, Richard tries to cook, fiddles with old turntables and shouts at the television.
