Sydney Stevenson

Sydney is an actor and writer based in West London. She comes from acting stock – it was in her blood and she didn’t stand a chance!

Since graduating from ArtsEd she has starred in “Misfits” (E4/Clarkenwell), “My Family” (DLT/BBC), “Doctors” (BBC), “Me and Mrs Jones” (BBC) and “Red Dwarf” (Dave/GrantNaylor).

Her theatre works includes; “The Men from the Ministry” (White Bear Theatre), “Next Door – an awkward love story” (Tabard Theatre) and “Relatively Speaking” (The Mill at Sonning). Sydney played ‘Fairy Petit Pois’ and ‘The Slave of the Ring’ in Welwyn Garden City’s Panto, for two years running. She also had audience’s crying with laughter in Welwyn’s adult Panto as the ‘Sh*tfaced Fairy’ (no actual alcohol was consumed for that performance!).

Recently Sydney has starred in several commercials including; Samsung’s ‘Flipper’ advert, Taylor’s Coffee, Uber’s Christmas Tips advert and Nested Estate Agents.

Sydney’s first play, “Next Door – An Awkward Love Story” was produced at the Tabard Theatre in 2015 by NB Productions. Her second play “Bubonic” was workshopped with ATG and the rehearsed reading was directed by Dominic Shaw with the cast including Ron Cook, Dianne Pilkington, Robert Lindsay and herself. “Bubonic” was also long listed for the Papatango prize 2017. Her short piece “Men and Women” was the winner of the ‘Voices from Home’ competition under ‘Broken Silence Theatre’ and was performed at the Old Red Lion Theatre.

Sydney has also written a feature film, “The Rose of No Man’s Land”, which is currently gaining funding with Turtle Canyon Films.

She is currently working on a musical/farce adaptation of  “The Three Musketeers” with her production company FoolHardy Productions which was due to premiere live in Manchester 2021, instead they adapted their plans for an online animated version, which can be accessed here .
