The Late Steve Brown
Composer, lyricist, arranger, record producer & occasional performer, Steve worked with some of the biggest names in British television, radio, theatre, comedy and music including; Steve Coogan, Lenny Henry, Spitting Image, Grayson Perry, Ant & Dec (for whom he wrote the immortal WONKY DONKEY theme), Lee Mack, Rory Bremner, “The Goes Wrong Show”, “Dead Ringers”, “New Tricks”.
Steve had a long-term working friendship with Harry Hill completing several UK tours and providing all music on “TV Burp”, “The All New Harry Hill Show” (ITV), “Alien Fun Capsule” (ITV) and “Teatime!” (SKY). He also composed songs and score for “Harry Hill The Movie”.
THEATRE includes: music/lyrics for the musicals “Tony! The Tony Blair Rock Opera” (Park Theatre/UK Tour), “Spend Spend Spend” (Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Musical), “I Can’t Sing” (London Palladium), “It’s A Wonderful Life” (New Wolsey, Ipswich), “Magic Goes Wrong” (Vaudeville), “Mind Mangler” (Edinburgh, UK Tour) and the stage show “Alan Partridge Stratagem” (UK Tour).
He produced triple platinum album “Seasons of my Soul” by Rumer (Atlantic Records), the acclaimed MOBO winning artist Laura Mvula’s platinum debut “Sing to the Moon” for RCA, having discovered both artistes, and “Little Black Book” by Sarah Walk (One Little Indian).
He appeared as the bandleader Glen Ponder in the first Alan Partridge BBC TV series “Knowing Me Knowing You”.
In 2021 he appeared on an edition of “Pointless Celebrities” winning the jackpot for Target Ovarian Cancer.
